Thank you for your interest in the Virtual Death Doula Network. We want you to be a part of what we are doing but aren’t ready for you just yet. We are currently in the process of reaching out with our services in order to iron out the details of our virtual doula work. Once we’ve established the best way to do that, we will be in touch to help you get started as well.
We expect the bulk of the work we’ll be doing to be a combination of companioning those dying and teaching friends and loved ones to more effectively support the dying. We are reaching out to our local hospices so that we can learn what we can and cannot do through our virtual doula work and then using what we learn to set up doulas like you to be as successful as possible when you begin to do the work.
In response to the current stressors on the healthcare system due to the pandemic, which has kept us out of hospitals, hospice, etc, we’ve recently introduced a service where we are providing grief and anxiety support to those struggling with someone else who may be dying or has already died. If you know anyone who would benefit from this sort of support and would like to help them in this capacity through the VDDN, we would be happy to discuss bringing you on in that capacity in the meantime.
We ask for your patience while we go through this learning process. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at VirtualDeathDoula@gmail.com. We are also open to setting up Zoom calls. We will check in with you periodically to let you know how our work is progressing and notify you as soon as we’re ready to have you join us.
